It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan F Abegglen, aged 79, who departed from us on October 12, 2024, at Appleton, Wisconsin. Allan was born on December 18, 1944, in Hartford, Wisconsin, to his parents, William and Margaret (Multhauf).
Allan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, and an awesome grandpa. He was married to his loving wife, Sharon (Andrews), for nearly 59 years. Their marriage was a testament to their commitment, love, and loyalty. Together, they experienced the joys and challenges of life, creating a beautiful family and a bond that will always be cherished.
Allan proudly served his country as a veteran, dedicating 18 years to the United States Navy and 9 years in the Wisconsin National Guard. His service to his country proved his unwavering patriotism and his strong character.
In his leisure time, Allan enjoyed several hobbies that brought him immense joy. He had a passion for bowling and cherished the camaraderie he found on the lanes. He also loved watching movies, going for car rides, exploring the town and sharing his stories with those around him. Allan's infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature made him a treasured individual in the lives of all who knew him.
Allan is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Abegglen, his loving sons, Kurt (Maria) Abegglen, and Peter (Kendall) Abegglen; his daughter-in-law, Jolene Abegglen; his cherished sister, Rosie Abegglen; his beloved sister, Sherry (Dennis) Klinkert; his caring brother, Mike (Lori) Abegglen; his dear sister, Mary Sutherland and his lovely little sister Amy (Tom) Marshall; as well as his 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Allan was preceded in death by his beloved son, Paul Abegglen, who will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family. He was also preceded in death by his father, William Abegglen, and his mother, Margaret (Multhauf).
Funeral services: A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with military honors at the Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 1311 Lawe St. Kaukauna.
Allan's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will guide and inspire us forever.
