Alice G. (Wagner) Guilfoyle, age 92, Sun Prairie, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living. She was born October 11, 1931 in the village of St. Peter in Fond du lac county, daughter to the late Edward and Bertha (Schneider) Wagner. In her early twenties, Alice moved to Evansville, Indiana. On July 16, 1969, she was united in marriage to Tom Guilfoyle, who she met while home for the holidays. Tom preceded her in death after 43 years of marriage. They lived in the Appleton area all of their married life. Alice moved to the Madison area after his death. She worked at Giddings & Lewis prior to moving to Evansville. She worked at Evansville college and Meade Johnson in Evansville. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Alice worked at WE Energies until she retired. She enjoyed playing sheepshead and traveling. Alice and Tom traveled to Belgium several times to visit Tom’s relatives. They also traveled to New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, France and Alaska.
Alice is survived by her five stepchildren: Peggy (Bill) Spreeman, Patty Guilfoyle, Tim (Cindy) Guilfoyle, Jeanne (Bill) Shavlik-Bork and Tom (Lisa) Guilfoyle; Many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The surviving siblings are: Sr. Lorraine Wagner, Joan Henning, Ann Schneider, John (Donna) Wagner, two sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her siblings Norman (Kathleen) Wagner, Celine (Don) Casper, Mary Wagner, David Wagner, Ethel (John) Haase and brother in law Jim Guilfoyle.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.
