Adolph H Bloy Jr.

Adolph H. Bloy, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024. He was born on June 7, 1928, to the late Adolph and Hanna Bloy.

Adolph was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Charlotte, for 68 wonderful years on May 16, 1956. Together, they built a loving family, which was the joy of his life. He is survived by his children: Karen Harris, Sandy (Emmet) Welter, Diane Bloy and her partner Chris Voet, and Julie Bloy. Adolph was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Kara VerVoort, Kenn Harris and his partner Katie McCormick, Kayla Harris, Emily (Brett) Vanden Hoogen, Amy (Dave) Kiedrowski, Kellsey (Micah) Schwantes, Amanda Pyke, Hunter (Lacey) Bloy, Elizabeth (Elijah) Owen, and Ramsey (Kristy) Bloy. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren: Bradyn Kiedrowski, Aliyah Pyke, Jensen VerVoort, Grant Schwantes, Serena and Adrienne Bloy, Francis, Lucy, and Julie Owen.

Adolph is further survived by his brother, Leonard Bloy, and in-laws: Pat Bloy, Marion Zwick, Bob (Mary) Kersten, and Mike (Carrie) Kersten. He is preceded in death by his son, Gary Bloy; grandson, Jake Welter; and son-in-law, Kenneth Harris.

Growing up on a farm instilled in Adolph a deep love for the outdoors, particularly a passion for gardening, where he took pride in nurturing his plants and watching them flourish through the seasons. He cherished the time spent at their camper on Shawano Lake, especially the fishing trips with his children that created lasting memories and allowed him to share his love for the sport with the next generation. Together with Charlotte, he enjoyed many bus trips to exciting destinations like Las Vegas, Nashville, Branson, and Washington, D.C. Adolph had a special appreciation for old-time country music, polka, and Lawrence Welk, often filling their home with the sounds of his favorite artists. As a lifelong sports enthusiast, he proudly rooted for the Green Bay Packers and loved the time spent watching the Brewers with Charlotte.

In addition to these passions, Adolph found joy in woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected his creativity and skill. He often made personalized gifts for family and friends, each item filled with thoughtfulness and care. His woodworking creations were a testament to his love for those around him.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Adolph served as a corporal stationed in Alaska during the Korean War and was a proud member of the VFW Post 3319.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rennes Rehab Center and Theda Clark Appleton 8th floor for the compassionate care given to Adolph in his final days.

The memorial service for Adolph will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna.  A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
