Victoria Hammen Obituary

Victoria R. “Vicki” Hammen, age 72, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side on Friday, January 4, 2019. She was born on December 7, 1946, daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Pennings) Jansen. On June 14, 1969, Vicki married the love of her life, her one true love and her best friend, Bruce Hammen. Together they have celebrated 49 years of marriage.

After graduating from St. John High School, Vicki worked at the Bank of Little Chute, Reynebeau Clothing and finished her career with the Outagamie-Waupaca Library Systems (O.W.L.S.). She enjoyed traveling, music (especially oldies), dancing and was an avid reader. She was also a lifelong member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute.

Vicki had a smile that could light up a whole room. She was extremely positive, always looking for the best in situations. Vicki was always having a good time and making everyone’s lives around her better. Her accomplishment that made her the most proud was her family. She absolutely adored her children and grandchildren. They brought her an immeasurable amount of joy.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Bruce Hammen; children: Adam (Laura) Hammen, Phillip (Jenna) Hammen and Leah (Dylan) Hilbert; grandchildren: Ella, Mason, Samuel, Saryn, Ashton and Jameson; siblings: Dennis (Judi) Jansen, Mary (Ron) Vosters, Carol (Kerry) Seiltz and Lori (Kevin) Kons; brothers and sisters-in-law: Edward (Ellen) Hammen, Linda (Lyle) Hansen, Lois (Tom) Ciske, Mark Hammen and Nick (Deb) Hammen; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred; father and mother-in-law: Ambrose and Lucille Hammen; and a sister-in-law, Imelda Hammen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Vicki’s name.
