Rosemary Pennings Obituary

Rosemary Ann Pennings

Rosemary A. Pennings, age 93, formerly of Little Chute, passed away March 22, 2018, at St. Paul Elder Services. She was born in Little Chute on February 8, 1925, daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Hermsen) Pennings. She was a lifelong member of St. John Parish.

Rosemary graduated from St. John High School in 1943 and immediately began her 12 year career with Eagle Mfg. She spent the following 30+ years in the paper industry for Pennsart Chemical Corp., J.M. Huber Corp. and retired from International Paper in June of 1986.

Rosemary was like a second mom to all of her siblings’ families and was the person everyone relied on. She was always there to help in good times and in bad. She enjoyed her Sunday get-togethers with her sisters as they cheered on the Packers, always hoping she would win the pool. After the death of her parents, she carried on the annual Christmas party for 46 years. She was the “glue” that kept the family together and because of her, we are a very close knit family.

Rosemary is survived by her brother, Joe (Cassie) Pennings; a sister, Clare Dercks; sister-in-law, Marilyn Pennings; nieces and nephews: Dennis (Judi) Jansen, Vicki (Bruce) Hammen, Mary (Ron) Vosters, Carol (Kerry) Seiltz, Lori (Kevin) Kons, Kerry (Gerard) Boissy, Scott (Karen) Pennings, Val (Jon) Rohr, Pam Pennings, Steve (Dori) Dercks, Paula (Tom) Zielinski, Dan (Amy) Dercks, Beth (John) Straw, Rochelle Dercks, Becky (Mark) Siebers, Barb (Charlie) Hopfensperger, Bonnie (Tim) Vanderloop, Tim (Dawn) Zornow, Terry (fiance, Sheri Wojciehowski) Zornow, Todd (Madonna) Zornow, Ted (special friend, Mary Sanderfoot) Zornow, Sandy (Ron) Diedrick, Pat (Warren) Hacker, Linda (special friend, Tom Mineau) Rasmussen, Julie (special friend, Bill Schider) Picard, Mike (Jeana) Pennings, Mark (Cheryl) Pennings, Melissa (John) Levi, Tom (Amy) Pennings; many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mildred (Bob) Jansen, Ethel (Jack) Niesz, Margaret (Bill) Zornow and Gene Dercks; special nephew, Jim Dercks and an infant sister, Theresa.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be next to her parents at St. John Cemetery.
