Randy C. Benthein

Randall C. Benthein, age 74, of Kaukauna, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 28, 2018, at his home. He was born in Manitowoc on November 5, 1943, son of the late Ralph and Catherine (Handl) Benthein. On May 1, 1965, Randy married Kathy Check, and together they recently celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Throughout the years, Randy worked for Lauson Autobody, Manitowoc Engineering and the Manitowoc Public School System. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and most importantly, spending time with his family. He cherished all time he could spend with them, especially his grandkids. He would make them the best chocolate chip cookies and he enjoyed that tremendously.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Benthein; sons: Todd (Mary) and Mike (Gerry) Benthein; grandchildren: Sarah, Joe, Tom and Dan Benthein and Drew, Anna and Michael Benthein; siblings: Rose Rugowski and Bob Benthein; brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve (Nancy) Check, Bob (Nancy) Check, Connie (Jon) Warning, Mary Smith and Sue Check; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Catherine; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Sally Check; and a brother, Ralph Benthein Jr.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating.
