On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Phyllis Lloyd, age 92, passed peacefully at Oak Park Place in Menasha, Wisconsin. Phyllis was born in Chicago, Illinois to Don and Barbara Smith on February 1, 1926. On July 19, 1946 she married David Lloyd in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They lived for many years in Neenah, Wisconsin and Newtown, Connecticut.
Phyllis and Dave were avid travelers who also lived in England and Germany. They visited dozen of countries on six continents and sailed close to Antarctica during a harrowing cruise around Cape Horn. A gracious hostess, Phyllis loved to cook and entertain. She was also talented at needlepoint and won many awards for her work. Most of all, Phyllis loved flowers and her home and gardens were often ablaze with peonies, roses, and orchids. She was a certified Master Gardener.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Shari Lloyd, David (Joan) Lloyd Jr, Rick (Kathy) Lloyd, Cailyn (Jennie) Lloyd; daughter-in-law Judy Lloyd; grandchildren Laura (Thomas) Clydesdale, Aaron (Angie) Lloyd, Andrea (Pete) Wisniewski, Jesse (Toni) Lloyd, Sarah (Matt) Brown, Ryan Kissel, Katie Lloyd, Mike (Elyse) Lloyd, and Cassie (Nick) Laszewski, and many great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband David, sister Nancy Boyle, son Michael Lloyd, and grandson Steven Lloyd.
The family is holding a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the International Crane Foundation.
