Margaret M. Springstroh, age 79, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 14, 2019. She was born in Green Bay on January 27, 1940, daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Green) Rickert. Marge attended Woodside and St. Nicholas Grade School and graduated from Freedom High School in 1958. She then attended UW-Oshkosh.
Marge married Ronald A. Springstroh on August 18, 1962. They raised two sons, Paul (Lisa) and Mark (Kari) Springstroh. Paul married Lisa Prusik on October 30, 1987. They have three daughters: Mackenzie Leigh, Kelsey Rose and Aubry Lin Springstroh. Mark married Kari Neumann on July 10, 1987. They also have three daughters: Sharaea Lin (Sam) Spaeth, Matayla Marie and Kiarra Sue Springstroh.
Marge worked for the Appleton Public Schools for 31 years before her retirement in 2002. She worked at East High School from 1971-1979, Highlands School from 1979-1985, and Horizons School from 1985-2002.
Marge was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. She volunteered at St. Peters School and Horizons School in the reading programs. Marge enjoyed reading, traveling and participating in her granddaughters many activities. Time spent with them was what she loved the most.
Marge is further survived by her sisters: Joan (Ron) Semrow, Kathy (Marv) Schiedermayer and Cindy (Mike) Ballweg; brothers: Dave (Judy), Pat (Mary), Bill (Katie), Dan (Joy) and Mike (Jill) Rickert; in-laws: Lloyd (Kaye) Springstroh, Lois Springstroh, Jane (John) Van Asten, Nancy Springstroh, Elaine Springstroh and Richard Liewergen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Rickert; father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Melda Springstroh; brothers-in-law: Richard, James, Larry and Roger Springstroh and a sister-in-law, Janet Liewergen.
Visitation will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, N2740 French Road, Appleton, on Monday, February 18, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery.
