Kathy M. Smudde

Kathy M. Smudde, age 62, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with Leukemia. She was born on July 28, 1955, in Appleton, daughter of Richard and Alice (Coenen) Van De Hey. Kathy graduated from Kimberly High School, Class of 1973. On October 11, 1974, she married Ralph Smudde in Kimberly. Their marriage of 43 years was blessed with two daughters. Kathy worked at Asten Johnson for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, golfing and spending time with her three grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph Smudde; daughters: Becky Smudde and Kristin (Tyler) Maahs; three grandchildren: Kaeden, Kinley and Bentley; her parents: Richard and Alice Van De Hey; brother, Lyle (Wanda) Van De Hey; sisters: Cindy (Frank) Dillinger, Linda (Randy) Uitenbroek and Jan (Ken) Schmitz; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bev (Don) Feldkamp, Leone (Jim) Pahl, Ann (Dave) Dupont, Lois (Jim) Lemke, Richard (Joyce) Smudde, Linda (Don) Moehring, Ken (Julie) Smudde, Steve (Sue) Smudde, Mary (Joe) Greiner and Brian Smudde; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law: Al and Agnes Smudde.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Don Everts officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
