James A. Cummings, age 77, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Jim was born on April 14, 1941 son of the late Alvin and Helen (Nelson) Cummings. He married Lily Maass on September 4, 1992. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2017. Jim enjoyed watching stock car racing at W.I.R., painting with paint by number and flower gardening. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by brothers and sisters, Evelyn (Victor) Loberger, Jerry Cummings, Carol Valeri, Marvin Cummings and Diane Donnermeyer; 11 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, step-daughters, Mary Shampo, Chris (Nick) Gunderson, Rosann (Pete) Younger, a sister-in-law, Lila Schroeder, and two step-daughters-in-law, Char Van Deraa and Barb Maass. In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Joan Cummings, two brothers-in-law, Mike Valeri and Jack Donnermeyer, two step-sons, Ron and Chuck Maass and a step-son-in-law, Ken Shampo.
A private family gathering will be held.
