Richard “Dick” Hahn, age 81, of Little Chute, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was born on October 14, 1935, in Iola, son of the late Clarence “George” and Evelyn (Madson) Hahn. On August 10, 1957, Dick married Bea Hinkens, and together they would have shared 60 years of marriage this month.
Dick proudly served his country in the Unites States Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 Little Chute and the Kaukauna VFW Post #3319. Dick was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loyal backer of A.A. for over 40 years, and was very honored to be of such help to so many people in the program. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and his trips to Canada with his sons. Family time was very important to Dick, especially time spent with his grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Bea Hahn; his children: Sue Miller, Gerald (Edna) Van Eyck, Paula (Bob) Vander Weyst, Dennis (Michelle) Hahn; a daughter-in-law, Lois Van Eyck; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn; a son, Phil Van Eyck; grandson, Alex Johnson; great granddaughter, Alexa Price; his twin, Ronald Hahn; sisters: Catherine Lust and Georgia Fischer.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be held at the VERKUILEN-VAN DEURZEN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 101 CANAL STREET, LITTLE CHUTE, on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Full military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #258, the Kaukauna VFW Post #3319 and the U.S. Marine Corps.
