Diane H. Patrick

Diane H. Patrick, age 64, of Little Chute, passed away at her home on November 27, 2018. She was born in Green Bay on July 10, 1954, daughter of the late James and Phyllis (Maes) Doyen. She graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School and attended Fox Valley Technical College to become an LPN.

After nearly 30 years as a nurse at Brewster Village, Diane retired. Following retirement, she continued to work part-time at St. Paul’s in Kaukauna and at Memorial Florist.  Diane was known by many of her patients and friends as Lady Di.

Diane was known for her smile and being nurturing; she loved creating things and watching them grow. She was always helping other people. Not only was she a true nurturer to her patients, family and friends, but also to her garden.

She enjoyed going up north to Lake Superior annually, always on the lookout for rocks to bring home, and traveling to Mexico to “bake her bones” in the sun, while enjoying a margarita (or two). Like most Wisconsinites, Diane was a Packer fan all of her life.

Diane is survived by her sons: Christopher Patrick and Shawn (Jarod Wilson) Patrick; her loving partner, Dan “Soupy” Hermsen; siblings: Rose Perry, Robert (Cathy) Doyen, Mary Lasse, Janet Ridgeway, Pete Doyen, Jen (Brian) Reno and Jody (Sohil) Kothari; Soupy’s siblings: Dick (Helen) Hermsen, Doug (Vicki) Hermsen and Dave (Peggy) Hermsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, James and Phyllis; a brother, Paul Doyen; and Soupy’s mother, Pat Hermsen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home FREEDOM LOCATION, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
