Delores Van Drunen

Delores Van Drunen, age 93, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 19, 2017. She was born on July 21, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and Valeria (Luka) Altenhofen. Delores was married to Vincent Van Drunen and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Delores was an extremely generous, kind person, always wanting to take care of others before herself. Her family was her greatest joy.

Delores is survived by her daughters: Susan Gelling, Kimberly and Patti (Jeff) Wildenberg, Kimberly; a granddaughter, Ashley (Josh) Zorn, Combined Locks; her two great grandsons that she adored: Owen and Hudson Zorn; a brother, Gordon Altenhofen, Oregon; sisters: Dorothy Williams, Waupaca and Jean Woods, Rhinelander; a brother-in-law, Richard Van Drunen, Kimberly; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her parents, Joseph and Valeria; a sister, Esther (Richard) Spielbauer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack Williams, Kay Altenhofen, Sal Woods, John (Betty) Van Drunen and Geraldine Van Drunen. 

Per Delores’s wishes, a private family graveside service was held at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.

The Van Drunen family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Atrium of Appleton, Ascension Hospice, and to neighbors Clarence and Judy Ver Bockel for all of the compassionate care given to Delores.

Nanie, you were the best Grandma anyone could ask for. I am going to miss you so much. I love you, Ashley
