Catherine "Cathy" J. Coffey

Catherine J. Coffey, age 63, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, and ran into the loving arms of Jesus with her family by her side. She was born on May 18, 1954 in Cleveland, WI daughter of the late Louis and Loretta (Glieber) Johannes. Cathy attended St. Wendel grade school and graduated from Seymour High School in 1972, where she was a member of the choir. She lived in Kaukauna for many years where she volunteered at Holy Cross Catholic School and was a member of the adult choir. Cathy married Bob Coffey on November 8, 1996. Together they were part owners of Coffey Insurance in Freedom. She enjoyed artwork, interior design, planning family celebrations and shopping for her grandbabies. Cathy took great delight in expressing her love for people by sending them special cards and notes.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughters: Jessie (Josh) Adrians, Mary (Josh) Drephal, and Megan (Dan) Nickchen; her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Zoe, and Wesley Nickchen, Jacob and Isaac Drephal, and Andrew Adrians. She is also survived by her brothers: Nick (Judy) Johannes, Rich (Helen) Johannes, John (Sharon) Johannes and Lou (Wendy) Johannes; brother and sister-in-law, Fran (Sandy) Coffey; and her best friend of over 30 years, Debbie Knepler.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Victoria Van Eperen.

The Funeral Mass for Cathy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton with Fr. Ryan Starks officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Cathy’s name.

The Coffey family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion they received.
