Kenneth J. Williamsen, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was born at home in Kimberly on November 14, 1931, the first born of Sylvan and Mary (Poppe) Williamson.
Ken graduated from both Holy Name Grade School and Kimberly High School. In his junior year he enlisted in the US Naval Reserves in Green Bay. In January of 1951, at the age of 19, he enlisted in the USMC where he spent over 2 years in London, England as a guard at the North Atlantic Fleet Headquarters. After his time in the service, he went to work at Kimberly-Clark where he got an apprenticeship as a machinist. He worked at Kimberly-Clark for 43 years before retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor. Ken was gifted with many talents and hoped he used them well.
Ken is survived by his children: Kelly (Todd) Urbon, John Williamsen, Kurt (Carolyn) Williamsen, Mike Williamsen, Beth Williamsen, and Kris Brantmeier; grandchildren: Mackenzie (Chris Menacher), Brooke, Jenna, Sam, Shane, Blake, and Alec; siblings and in-laws: Audrey Janssen, Dave and Judy Williamson, Mary Lou Williamson, and Nancy Landgraf (Paul Rettler).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, RoseMary; a son, Ronald; father and mother-in-law: Al and Lucy Schmitzer; 2 brothers: Richard and Alan Williamson; brothers-in-law: Paul Janssen and John Landgraf.
A funeral service for Ken will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
