Ted James Thorland passed away on January 21, 2016 at the age of 52 at Appleton Medical Center after suffering a massive heart attack. He was surrounded by his children and many other family members. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Shirley Thorland and his grandparents, Thera & Ole Thorland.
Ted is survived by his sons, Alex Thorland of Eustis TX, Trevor and Brandon Thorland of Waupaca, WI, a granddaughter, Lily and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters; Thomas Thorland of Phoenix, AZ; Timothy Thorland (Sue) of Madison, WI; Troy Thorland (Donna) of St. Augustine, FL and Todd Thorland of St. Augustine, FL; Sally Harvey (Manny) of Freehold, NJ and Sharon Kalscheuer (Sauk City, WI).
A memorial service was held on January 24, 2016 at Shepherd of the Lakes of Waupaca, WI.
Ted was a wonderful father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He grew up in Sun Prairie, WI and spent several of his younger years in Kingsford, MI. After working in several bowling establishments from Iron Mountain to Houston, TX, he decided to become a truck driver. He worked for Chain O’Lakes Express for the last 9 years in Waupaca, WI. Ted loved to bowl, was active in politics and loved everything about Wisconsin, especially the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and the Green Bay Packers. He will be missed by all.
