Ronald J. Weiss

Ronald J. Weiss, age 80, of Appleton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 26, 2016. He was born in Milwaukee on October 29, 1935, son of the late Max and Betty Wisialowski.

Ron proudly served his county as a water purification specialist for the U.S. Army in Japan.  He is a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Appleton.  He graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a management degree. Ron was a former owner of the Maritime Bar in Appleton and Schooners Bar in Neenah. He also owned his own business, International Business Enterprises, and worked for Allis Chalmers for 30 years, traveling worldwide for the company. Ron enjoyed volunteering at multiple children group homes in Milwaukee and at the Outagamie County Jail.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ciline; a daughter, Kristin (Flemming) Jensen; a son, Douglas (Patti) Weiss; a daughter-in-law, Michell Weiss; grandchildren: Stephanie and Brandon Jensen, Nichole (Kyle) Hester and Trevor (Gloriani) Weiss, and Carley Weiss; great grandchildren: Jude, Aiden, Quinn, Danzig and Lilikoi; a sister, Diane (Howard) Hanisch and a brother-in-law William (Jean) Ramlow.

Ron was preceded in death by his son and best friend, Jon Weiss and his parents, Max and Betty.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. A visitation will be held directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
