Ronald J. Coenen

Ronald J. Coenen, 79, of Little Chute, passed away at St. Paul Home with his loving family at his side on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Ron was born on March 24, 1937, in Little Chute, son of the late Otto and Marie (Hooyman) Coenen. He married Therese “Tes” Biesterveld on April 12, 1958. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute.  He was the owner of Ron’s D-X, later known as Coenen’s Auto Tech.  Ron volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, was past President of the Little Chute Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Jaycees and the Little Chute Businessman’s Association.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Tes; his children: Tom (Lori) Coenen, Julie Brooks, Mike (Nancy) Coenen, Gary (Kelly) Coenen, Amy (Ed) Geurts, and Kelly Panzenhagen; grandchildren: Kevin (Rachael), Kari and Leah Coenen; Aaron (Dani) Cramer, Jessica (Chris) Hennes; Katie, Tanner and Kylie Coenen; Tyler, Ben and Charlie Coenen; Adam (Amber) Boehnlein, Taylor Geurts; Paige, Morgan and Cole Panzenhagen, and 9 great grandchildren.  He is further survived by brothers and sisters: Jerry Coenen, Yvonne (Gordy) Sprangers, Julane (James) Feldkamp, LeRoy Coenen, Grace (Florian) Smits, Sue Coenen and Jim (Leslie) Coenen; sisters-in-law: Ann Fleming, Rosemary Kramer and Liz Biesterveld.  

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson:  Travis Coenen; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ginny Coenen, Ray Biesterveld, Joyce Biesterveld, Jerry Fleming and Ed Kramer; son-in-law: Bruce Brooks, and mother and father-in-law, George and Alegonda Biesterveld.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Father Jim Vanden Hogen officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
