Welcome to the memorial page for

Rick Peter Pynenberg

April 24, 1948 ~ November 14, 2016 (age 68) 68 Years Old

The good Lord said, “Well done, good and faithful servant, you lived with diabetes for 55 years and endured 9 years of dialysis.”

Rick was a gentle, kind follower of Jesus.  He prayed to the Blessed Mother daily, he knew she would lead him to her son, Jesus.

Richard Peter Pynenberg Jr. entered heaven on November 14, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.  Rick had lived a beautiful life.  He was sent from heaven in 1948 to Rich and Ann (Lamers) Pynenberg.  Born and raised in Little Chute, and schooled at St. John’s.  Later he moved to Combined Locks, and graduated from Kimberly High School.  He continued his education in Ohio at the National School of Meat Cutting in 1968, of which he was so proud. There he graduated at the top of his class.

He went on to marry his earth angel, Cindy (Vosters) Pynenberg, and was blessed with four strong sons, and a beautiful daughter.  John Richard, (Kari) Pynenberg, Reedsburg.  Scott Richard, (Nicole) Pynenberg, Freedom.  Mark Richard (Becky) Pynenberg, Freedom. Chad Richard (Jodi) Pynenberg, Freedom. Jill Marie, (Billy) Walker, Waupun.  With that came 14 angels (our grandchildren) Emma, Abby, Ian, Zac, little angel Zoey (that grandpa prayed so hard for.)  (2 angel boys that have already greeted him in heaven) Devon, Dane, Brooklyn, Brett, Cody, Xander and Griffon. (Jennifer Pynenberg-daughter-in-law).

Rick is survived by his siblings Mary (Bill) Timmers, Jim (Bev) Pynenberg, Tom (Be Alford) Pynenberg, Mike (Connie) Pynenberg, Cindy (Bob) Wolf, Lenny (Laurie) Pynenberg, David (Wanna) Pynenberg, Nancy (Larry) Novak.  He is also survived by his in laws Sue (Gary) Van Nuland, Sally (Jack) Driscoll, Diann (Jeff) Hietpas, Debbie (Dave) Johnson, Mary (Dennis) Brennan.

The grandchildren brought laughter, tears of joy, and a will for grandpa to keep trucking along. He was a prayer giant in our family, loved going to Mass, and receiving the Eucharist.

Rick worked at various supermarkets, but a favorite was Doering’s Super Value, where he worked for 12 years.  He taught meat cutting at Fox Valley Tech for 10 years. He touched many lives, and always tried to walk in Jesus’s footsteps.  He loved the beauty of the outdoors, and in 1985, he started Apple Creek Orchard.  We have been so blessed, many times over with bountiful harvests.  The bright, red, shiny apples have brought us many smiles and prideful tears. Rick then built a little apple store and filled it with his apples, and his loving warm smile that his customers surely enjoyed.

He always loved life, and lived every day as a gift from God. Words he loved “God is good all the time, all the time, God is good.”  God’s word says, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”  James 1:12
