Ralph L. Schmidt

Ralph L. Schmidt, age 92, of Hollandtown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He was born in Forest Junction on June 4, 1925, son of the late Bernard and Mary (Rossmeier) Schmidt. Ralph married Grace Hermsen on August 19, 1950. He farmed and worked full time at the Kimberly Paper Mill.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Grace Schmidt; his children: Ken (Bonnie) Schmidt, Larry (Pat) Schmidt, Marg (Steve) Haessly, George (Deb) Schmidt and Ann (Ron) Heiting; grandchildren: Carolyn (Casey) Davis, Mike (Katie) Schmidt, Julie (George) Doire, Emily Schmidt, Karen Schmidt, Chris (Will) Martino, Brian (Dawn) Haessly, Matt (fiance, Danielle) Haessly, Justin Schmidt, Evan (special friend, Falina) Schmidt, Ebanie Schmidt, Jennesa (fiance, Bob) Heiting and Alana (Dan) Phillips; 12 great grandchildren; a step sister, Loraine Brink; brother and sisters-in-law: Millie Wippich, Ellie Behling and Lloyd (Marlene) Hermsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Mary; step father, Henry; brothers: Gerald (Evelyn) and Joseph Schmidt; a sister, Ann Marie (Francis) Kempen; step siblings: Clarence (Jeanne) Schmidt, Leonard (Lori) Schmidt, Art (Marion) Schmidt, Rose (Hilard) Brantmeier, Don Brink and Lucille Spencer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Helen (Joe) Vande Voort, Clara (Emmett) Newhouse, Joe (Lillian) Hermsen, Lorraine (Leo) Hooyman, Marian Hermsen, Raymond Hermsen, Cielia Hermsen, Edward Behling and Larry Wippich.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Francis Catholic Church, 433 County Road CE, Hollandtown, with Fr. Willie Van De Loo officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
