Milo "Sonny" Garvey

Milo E. “Sonny” Garvey, age 88, of Freedom, passed away surrounded by his family on April 19, 2018. He was born on September 23, 1929, son of the late Henry and Josephine (Weyenberg) Garvey.

Sonny is survived by his daughters: Cori (Ken) Coenen and Kelly (Paul) Randerson; grandchildren: Julie Haring, Lisa Lambie, Sally Joel, Al Coenen and Hayley Randerson; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Vernon (Elaine) Garvey; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alyce (Nechodom) Garvey; and a son, Alan Garvey.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, all donations received will be donated to help fund Alzheimer’s research.

The Garvey family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Country Villa in Pulaski for the wonderful care given to Sonny over the last four months. Also a thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for the compassionate help given over the last few days.
