Martin T. Jansen

March 25, 1929 ~ July 15, 2015 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Martin Jansen, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on March 25, 1929, in Little Chute, son of Martin and Mary (Lamers) Jansen.  Marty married the love of his life, Marianne “Sue” Nusskern, on January 2, 1952, in Munich, Germany.  She preceded him in death on May 6, 2004.  He faithfully visited her grave at the cemetery twice a day until he was no longer able to do so.  Marty was in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany during the Korean conflict.  He was a partner in Jansen Construction Company in Little Chute for 25 years and then became the Street Commissioner for the Village of Little Chute for 14 years.  He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Countryside Golf Club.  He also enjoyed his weekly card games and a good game of cribbage, anytime he could find a challenger.  Not long before he died, he got a perfect “29” hand while playing a game with Matt, one of his caregivers. Marty was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.  He was very active in the American Legion for many years.  He was a member and past commander of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute, was a past commander of the State of Wisconsin American Legion, and was a member of many sub-organizations within the American Legion, including Badger Boys State, which he attended and supported for over 35 years.  Marty was also a member of the Outagamie County Voiture 1140 40 et 8.

Marty is survived by a sister, Dolores Liesch, Little Chute, and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Lori Hietpas and her husband Jody.

In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers:  John (Lorraine), Norbert (La Verne), Vincent (Grace), Joe (Alvina), Anthony (Leatrice), Gerald, and Al (Carol); sisters: Adriana (Frank) LeNoble, Agnes (Charles) Moeri, Ursula (Joseph) Dollevoet, and Gertrude (Gordon) Marquardt; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Liesch.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating.  Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.  Friends may call at St. John Church from 3:00 until the time of the service. A special thanks to the staff of Right At Home, Grand Horizons in Kimberly and Affinity Visiting Nurses for the outstanding care they gave to Marty.

I would like to thank my family for all of the love and support they have given to me.  A special “thank you” to Jody, who was like a son to Marty and spent special time with him, which Marty loved and enjoyed.   Love-Dolores
