Jeanne Diane (Niemuth) Schirmer

Jeanne D. (Niemuth) Schirmer, 45, of Palatine, Ill., formerly of Little Chute, passed away peacefully with her husband beside her on May 15, 2015. Born August 31, 1969, daughter of Donald and Diane Niemuth.  Jeanne married her best friend, Russ Schirmer, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on October 26, 1996.

Jeanne graduated from Little Chute High School as well as Madison Business College. She met Russ while working at JJ Keller & Associates. Not long after their marriage, they moved to the Chicago area where she worked at Trailer Leasing Corporation, Hill, Gilstrap & Balson then Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.  Jeanne enjoyed working and those she worked with.  She built strong and long lasting friendships with those around her.

Jeanne enjoyed reading, movies, the Triple Crown, trivia, Packers, dancing and many other of life's offerings.  She took pleasure in traveling and kept a map where she marked the places she visited and would like to see.  One of her favorite spots to visit was Hawaii, where she was able to vacation several times.   

In January 2012 Jeanne was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, which ultimately took her life.  Though the cancer was relentless, so was Jeanne's determination. She never allowed the cancer to take away her positive attitude, cheerfulness and sense of humor.   Her caring and concern for others continues.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Russ Schirmer, Palatine; mother, Diane Niemuth, Little Chute; two  brothers: Jim (Lynn) Niemuth, Kaukauna, and Joe (special friend, Terry) Niemuth, Appleton;  sister, Jackie (Tracy) Johnson, Appleton; mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Raymond Schirmer; brothers and sisters-in-law: R.C. (Sharon) Schirmer, Bob (Michelle) Schirmer all from Wausau and Ron Schirmer, Minneapolis; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Donald Niemuth; grandparents: Nicholas and Daisy Reisinger, Oscar and Adelia Niemuth, Raymond and Margaret Schirmer, Fred and Erna Hengst and friends: Sheila Evers, Connie Brick, Gary Hoehne and Marv Strommen.

Family and friends will be received at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. followed by a Mass at 5:00 p.m. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
