Jane Marie Van Den Heuvel

Jane M. Van Den Heuvel, 57, of Little Chute, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 14, 2016. She was born on January 19, 1958, daughter of Patrick and Bernice (Vander Wyst) Blohm. On April 16, 1982, Jane married Dan Van Den Heuvel at St. John’s Church in Little Chute. She worked at Thrivent for over 30 years in the financial services department.

Jane was well known for her generosity, caring ways, and loving spirit. While battling her ALS, she continued to put others first. Jane enjoyed spending time at the mall with her family and friends. You could usually find her speed walking all around Little Chute or volunteering her time at St. John’s. Jane truly loved being a grandma. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and they always put a smile on her face. Jane’s courage, her smiles and her positive attitude have been an inspiration to many during these last few years. She was an incredible woman who will be truly missed by all.

Jane is survived by her husband of 34 years, Dan; her beloved children: Kevin (girlfriend Nicki Arend) Van Den Heuvel, Kurt (Whitney) Van Den Heuvel, and Alyssa (Steven) Gates; her precious grandchildren: Gracie Jane, Marlie Jane, Micah Daniel, and number 4 on the way; her mother, Bernice Blohm; siblings: Mary (John) Kolosso, Steve (Mary) Blohm, Deb (Dan) Valentyn, Barb (Dick) Van Grinsven, and Tim (Jodi) Blohm; her caretaker and “adopted daughter”, Jes Foster; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dennis (Dyanne) Vanden Heuvel, Carol McCalvy, Mary (Barry) Deleeuw, Diane (Jim) Guckenberg, Leon (Lu) Vanden Heuvel, and Irene (Larry) Huget; Godmother, Marge Miller; Jane’s “Lucky Charms” and many other family members and special friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Blohm; brother-in-law, Dale McCalvy; Godfather, Bob Miller; and her Mother and Father-in-law, Theresa and Edward Van Den Heuvel.

Funeral services for Jane will be held on her birthday, Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Due to Jane’s vibrant personality, she requested that guests wear bright colors, and not black to the funeral. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Also a special thank you to Jes Foster, who has been Jane’s caregiver and has become a part of the Van Den Heuvel family. Her care, compassion, and love given to Jane will never be forgotten. Finally to Jane’s best friends, Cindy Zornow, Janet Lenz, Clare Vanden Hogan, Amy Beno, Donna Phelan, Becky Hietpas, Becky Wieske,  Donna VanVreede, the rest of Jane’s “Lucky Charms”, and her many friends that made weekly visits to the house.
