Ivol J. Vanden Heuvel

April 3, 1925 ~ April 18, 2016 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Ivol Vanden Heuvel, 91, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016, surrounded by his family in his home. He was born April 3, 1925, in Little Chute, son of the late Martin and Gertrude (Hartjes) Vanden Heuvel. He was the eldest of nine children. Ivol married Therese Simon on September 3, 1949 at St. Mary’s Church in Kaukauna. He worked at Kimberly Clark Mill in Kimberly.  He also worked as a custodian at Holy Angels, Darboy and Trinity Lutheran Church, Kaukauna.  He retired in 1987 from Thrivent.

Following his retirement Ivol volunteered at St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul and St. Joe’s food pantry.  He loved his hobbies of woodworking and painting.  He was very talented with his hands and could paint or repair anything.  He enjoyed spending time in his workshop and yard.

Ivol was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Little Chute.  He also was a 4th degree honor guard with the Knights of Columbus.

Ivol is survived by his wife, Therese of 66 years, their children, Chris (Gary) Driessen, San Antonio, TX, Mary (Dennis) Arnoldussen, Freedom, Joe, Sherwood, Karen (Jerry) Rohloff, Appleton, Dennis (Lisa), Watertown, Tim, Kaukauna, Lynn (Joel) Biese-Carroll, Kenosha.  14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; twin sister, Eileen Northway; sister, Diane (Clete) Nelessen; brothers: Bob (Anna May), Jim (Kay), Austin (Molly), Vincent (Betty) and Owen (Jean) Vanden Heuvel.

Ivol is also survived by many Simon and Vanden Heuvel nieces and nephews.

Ivol was preceeded in death by his parents and sister, Rita Worden and by all of Therese’s (Simon) brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Chuch, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating and Deacon Rick Simon assisting. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial has been established in Ivol’s name.
