Isabelle I. Vosters

Isabelle Vosters, age 92, of Freedom, passed away on January 30, 2017, at the Country Villa Assisted Living peacefully in her sleep.  Isabelle was born on November 22, 1924, in Kaukauna, daughter of Nicholas and Gertrude Vandenberg.   On August 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Vosters.  Gilbert and Isabelle celebrated 67 years of marriage.  She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Catholic church in Freedom where she was a Christian mother.  She also worked at the hot lunch program. Gilbert & Isabelle ran a dairy farm from 1950 to 1987 in the Freedom area with the help of their family.  Isabelle was always there providing for their family baking bread, cooking and making pies.  Gilbert and Isabelle’s routine included attending church and playing sheepshead or smear on Sundays.  They enjoyed Friday fish fries and making the rounds to visit the ones unable to get out.  They enjoyed trips to the casino.

Godchildren: Audrey Timmers, Kathy Ashauer, Margie Schultz, Sandy Hoelzel, Dawn VandeVoort.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents, Nicholas & Gertrude Vandenberg and her in laws, Martin & Anna Vosters; her daughter, Beverly Ambrosuis; her infant twin daughters; son-in-law, Gary Gonnering;

her siblings and in-laws: Zeta (Nick) Heisman, Yvonne (Jim) Hoffman, Margie Vandenberg, Jean (Ted) VanDera, Pearl (Roy) Pleshek, Merlin School, Bill Schultz, Douglas (Carol) Vandenberg; her Husband’s family: Ves (Jane) Vosters, Andrew (Calixta) Vosters, Bill Vosters, Eunice Vosters, Ernie Vosters, Liz (Norb) Becker, Norbert Vosters, Agnes (Gordon) VandeHey, Arlene Vosters.

The family would like to thank the Country Villa staff, especially Tina, Gina, Sandra and Laura from Hospice for the excellent care, Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Funeral Home and the many friends and family members that came to visit.  A special thanks to Fr. Stumpf and Deacon Gary for their blessings and frequent visits.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Road S, Freedom, with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.  Friends may call at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, N3972 Columbia Ave, Freedom, on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Isabelle will be buried at St. Nicholas Cemetery following the service.
