Betty A. Wydeven

Betty Wydeven, 81, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2015. She was born on August 2, 1934, daughter of the late Timothy and Marie (Kurz) Ryan. Betty was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Wydeven on February 12, 1955. Together they worked side by side for over 25 years in the restaurant industry, owning Dick and Betty’s and Oakwood Hills. They then got into the Hotel Management business and did that for over 20 years. Betty enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas and up north to Lake Tomahawk. Betty was able to attend the first two Super Bowls that the Packers played in.  The greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Chase and Kylee, who filled her last years with so much love her heart was full.   She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by many.

Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dick, her children: Wendy (Amy Suprise) Wydeven, Tim Wydeven, Rich Wydeven and Daniel Wydeven; grandchildren: Chase and Kylee Wydeven; sisters: Mary Ellen (Jerry) Locy and Margie (Dan) Verbeten; brothers and sisters-in-law James (Janice), Tom (Betty), Bob (Donna), Jeff (Beth) and Elaine Wydeven, Carolyn (Dave) Minten and Barbara (Tom) Hoffman.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary; a grandson, Ryan; infant brother, Robert; a sister, Zita (Fred) Steckelberg; mother- in -law Grace, father-in-law Richard and a brother-in-law, Jerry Wydeven.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.
